Commander Appo was a Clone Commander of the 501st Legion. During the Clone Wars he served as a sergeant participated in the Battle of Umbara and Later in the war, He was promoted to Commander and commanded the attack on the Jedi Temple.

Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith[]
Appo was promoted to commander and served directly under General Anakin Skywalker, really the newly-appointed Sith Lord Darth Vader, during the attack on the Jedi Temple after the execution of Order 66. He would bar senator Bail Organa from entering the Temple following the massacre, informing the Alderaanian of the "Jedi rebellion” before ordering him to leave immediately. However, he and his squad were assaulted by Jedi Padwan Zett Jukassa, a survivor of the initial attack. The Padawan would strike down Appo and several other troopers with his lightsaber, before being gunned down by the fallen commander's remaining squadmates.
