Jeffrey Jacob "J.J." Abrams (born June 27, 1966) is an American film and television producer, screenwriter, director, actor, and composer who is best known for creating the television series Alias and Lost for ABC and directing the films Star Trek, Super 8 and its sequel Star Trek into Darkness. Disney and Lucasfilm announced that Abrams would direct and produce the film Star Wars: Episode VII released in 2015.
